It’s been almost three full months since I’ve posted anything on here. You’d think I’d have had some profound experience to write about, or some deep thoughts, but no, just business as usual. The internet has felt like such a frenzy lately that it’s actually become….boring….to be on it. It’s too much going on and I feel like my brain just turns to mush every time I try to “engage.”
Anyways, I’ve been having a tough time getting into the Halloween spirit this year (honestly every year cuz I hate Halloween/horror but last year I did pretty good minus the whole crying at a haunted hayride thing). It’s probably that I’ve been busy, that it’s an election year, and that this whole summer has been so hot for so long. I’m not digging any of it! Seems like nobody else is either. We saw some beautiful fall foliage in Minnesota last week, we carved some pumpkins, are planning on carving more, and we’ve been trying to watch scary movies that are both exciting to Clay and acceptable to me (I am SCARED OF EVERYTHING and I am PICKY). That crossover pretty much means 70’s/80’s John Carpenter and/or Steven King things filled with creature effects. I’m trying to be a little freaked out, not shit my pants and/or sweat for two hours straight. Here are some sloppy li’l scans from the ol’ s-book (sketchbook):

We also watched THE THING (the Kurt Russell one) last night which was apparently disliked when it was first released but I enjoyed it. Didn’t draw it though. Three cheers for real special effects!! When the guy’s fingers go through that other guy’s face skin?? That shit is so gross and scary! A+!!
(Also also watched The Princess Diaries while babysitting our friend’s six-year old, and it’s SCARY how bad that movie is.)
